[/center] Here, on Lion and Lamb, we run our roleplay on something called a 'time shift' a time shift is a simple and easy way to keep a plot running smoothly and continually. One 'shift' represents one day in roleplay time and each shift will last two weeks realtime. Within those two weeks you are allowed to have a maximum of three threads, now this may sound like very little but trust me, it's a perfect amount: not too little that you're bored, and not too many that you're swamped. Each shift you will be expected to sign up your three threads to a masterlist which will enable others to follow your thread if you wish, and so everyone can see what happened to characters during each shift. Time shifts are fun and easy once you're used to them and are an effective way of roleplay. Below, are some frequenly asked questions, if you have another question which has not been answered below, then do not hesitate to pm any of the admins for an answer. [/div]

WHAT IS A TIME SHIFT? (In more detail) A time shift is an organized way for the staff members to move plots ahead. The basic idea of a time shift is to set up a certain day and/or time in the game for characters to interact. The administrative team will decide on the days and/or times for each shift, pushing the game forward and keeping all characters on the same page. Every two weeks the shift will change and notifications in the Bulliton Board will go up with the shift change and future shifts. The shift will be one day in the game, but out of the game you will have fourteen days to post between yourself and other members of the site. If you do not finish your thread, that is fine. You can talk with the person OOC for what was supposed to happen or check out your other options under the question ‘What if the Thread Isn’t Done?' The goal of time shifts is to avoid getting swamped with multiple replies, especially those who have multiple characters. We want everyone to have the ability to continue RPing though, so we increased the limit to two or three threads.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A TIME SHIFT? The benefits of a time shift are varied. It allows people to have multiple threads and not get overwhelmed since you can choose to have three threads per character or simply one. The shifts allow for the game to proceed on a regular schedule and for the staff to plan plots that will occur on certain days for all members to partake in. The shifts also allow everyone to be on the same page. If it’s a Tuesday, then everyone is role playing on a Tuesday and things move along on the same tempo. It’s hard to follow when someone is on a Tuesday and another is on a Friday, this way all information will occur around the same time and members can keep track of one another easily.

WHAT INFORMATION IS INCLUDED IN A TIME SHIFT? Each shift will include the date as well as the weather report for the day. Members are in charge of picking what time of the day it is so they can split up the day as best as possible.

HOW MANY THREADS CAN I HAVE? (In more detail) You can have a maximum of three threads per character. For example, Lanie has Billy, Amber, Shiloh, Benadette, and Vera as characters. Each character gets three threads, which is fifteen threads per shift total. Or, you can have one thread per character per shift. The threads are open in this way so you can post as much or as little as you want. In fact, if you want to your character can take a shift off and be involved in no threads. The shifts have the ability to be customized.

CAN WE HAVE GROUP THREADS? Yes, you may have whomever you want in a thread. This includes your character and one other person or multiple people. Also, a group thread does not count towards your 'Max. 3 threads'. That means you could have 3 threads AND a group thread on top of that. However, one character is limited to 2 group threads per shift

WHAT IF A THREAD IS NOT COMPLETE? (In more detail) If the thread isn’t completed by the next shift, that is perfectly fine. You just need to talk to the other role playing members to find out what you wanted to happen and all agree or continue it over. If you choose to continue your thread over to the next shift it does count as one of your 3 threads.

WHAT HAPPENS IN WE FINISH A THREAD EARLY? (In more detail) If the thread is complete you may start another role play with a new character or wait the rest of the shift out. It’s your choice what you do with your character however we would recommend only starting another thread in the current shift if you are certain there's enough time.

WHAT IF I JOIN THE SITE MID SHIFT? Don't worry if you join the in middle of a shift, you may start roleplaying with other members if they're free, or you could join open threads. Or, you can wait until the next shift. New members are more then welcome to dive in with old members or talk out of character in the c-box to find threads to join.

WHY DO WE HAVE TO SIGN OUR THREADS UP? The admins want to be able to keep track of all the threads that are in session during the shift. We need to know who's in how many and if any of the rules are being breached. This will also allow others to find threads easier and follow the individual plots that are in development.

WHERE AND HOW DO I SIGN MY THREADS UP? Once you've made a thread, you'll be expected to sign it up in the 'Time Shift Information' sub board that's located in the Bulletin Board area. If you don't sign the thread up, there is a possibility it will be moved or deleted.

WHY THREE THREADS IF WE'RE POSTING AS ONE DAY? There are many, many hours in a day, is there not? You're character could wake up at home with a friend or meet someone in the morning then in the afternoon they could be shopping with someone else while in the evening they're at a party. You can pick three different times of the day and RP your character during those times. That way, you could have your character in one place in the morning, one place in the afternoon, and another in the evening. And yes, all three threads could be occurring at the same time.
