It has been sixty years since the worlds met and seals were broken for a short time. It was during that short time that beings from these different worlds have fallen in, out, up, and down from their own worlds. When the seals were fixed, beings from different worlds found themselves trapped on the world of "Earth" and now struggle to make a place here.
The world is now inhabited not only with humans, but shifters, vampires; living and dead, demons, pixies, elves, faeries, Genasi, witches, and warlocks.
Over these sixty years these species have made a home for themselves. The demons can be accessed by ley lines, which has become a natural power for magical creatures alike. They have been given the name "Inderlanders".
Now the government is aligning with the Inderlander community, trying to give them equal rights. In doing so the Inderlander community has started their very own Inderlander Security while the human government constituted their very own Federal Inderlander Bureau, which is the new and improved police force that works alongside Inderlander Security. The convention that allows both agencies to operate forbids Inderlanders from being on the F.I.B. payroll, although consulting jobs mostly are allowed.
